    since discord holds a lot of data and it'd be like annoying to have it stuck on discord and useful for archivial and authenticity verifiacation purposes I wrote a program to mitm discord and dump it's data in a database
  172. the idea is to possibly get some useful data out of it for example calculate how many people have more than 5 mutual servers with you

    an intresting use would be to gather a network of accounts and have them record messages, that way you can prove a message probaly exists if people go into dms you can't really prove anything exists because people can just edit the screenshot and delete messages afterwards so only discord has the power to retrieve the messages that is if their cassandra tombstone doesn't happen

    This is good but I need an external service. This is basically the equivelant of screenshoting an entire Discord server. Its good enough for personal use, but I need something to prove that the message was not faked. Anyone can screenshot a web page, but if you archive it through a 3rd party the chances of it being faked is significantly less

    The server is public with invites avaliable, its not like a private message session or one of those servers where you need to get "approved" to see the normal channels and until then are only limited to the verify channel or smthing

    I think what I'll do is record a video of me scrolling to the Discord message with ublock origin and all extensions off (because if I record a video with it off the next response will be "I added a filter in ublock to modify the message") and reload the page (to remove any fear of inspect element)

    I'd say that is your best bet, but at the end of the day, any of these methods could be modified, all it takes is some inspect element or photoshop work

    here's this sort of thing with this sort of stuff,
    for now, all the hosts I can run stuff are on would def not be ok with me running a tor hidden service
    ideally I'd do the discord scraping on a virtual machine with a vpn and then upload the results to a server running the tor hidden service which also provides a publicly accesible web query system

    an other reason besides what javaarchive said, is actually public access to public communities.

    first of all, afaik you cannot browse discord communities without registering an account, be it anonymous or a real one.

    but then there are some communities where they only let in people who have provided a verified email address and/or phone number.

    and then I haven't talked about discord seemingly randomly locking down anonymous accounts until they verify themselves with any of the above identifiers above
